CompuCraft offers an exciting product for needleworkers. Any photograph can be used to produce a pattern which when completed creates a life-like sepia portrait. Our process uses your photo to print a pattern with which you can create a family heirloom.

Your photo might be of a child, home, pet or friend, and will be returned to you unharmed with your order. The scanning process can use either color or black and white photos. A clear, well lit, in focus, high quality photograph, in which the subject is easily distinguished form the background will produce a more pleasing finished product. A plain contrasting background seems to work well; for example, dark hair against a light background. The subject of  interest, such as a face in a portrait, should be at least an inch tall. The photo will be enlarged or reduced to fit the size pattern you choose.

Four standard sizes of patterns are available.  Custom sizes are also available.

• For best results when using multiple subjects, be sure the subjects' faces are close together so minimal stitches will be used in the area between them.

• We generally chart the face and neck area of a photo only, unless you specify otherwise. Remember the more of a subject you want charted, the less resolved or detailed the final work will be.

• Your photograph is worked onto your material by following a counted cross stitch pattern or chart. The pattern is printed on paper and is not printed upon the adia cloth. It must be counted onto the material by you.

• All patterns are worked with symbols which represent 10 different shades of brown tones only. You may choose to substitute other single sets of colors (e.g., blues, greens, reds) if preferred.

• Full color patterns are not available through CompuCraft.

• Your personal charted pattern can be reused for other projects.

• Because of copyright laws, we are unable to chart published photos without written permission from the copyright holder.
